MANIFESTO

§ Design is an inherent, though not exclusive, activity of humankind. It is the pre-figurative action of form that allows for the configuration of a given entity within the artificial, virtual, or organizational environment.

§ Design encompasses both what its designers agree upon and invent, and what users and society assign and discover.

§ Good design is that which benefits the greatest number of people or solves humanity’s most urgent needs.

§ Good design is also that which successfully addresses and articulates the appropriate number of factors and technologies around a purpose.

§ Good form is that which addresses both physical and transcendental requirements, in accordance with the society in which it participates or which it supports.

§ Design is not an activity or a criterion exclusive to designers.

§ Designers are best suited to guide decisions and develop new or improved devices, given their experience developing techniques or attending to practical applications; they tend to be the most competent, as they also spend their time projecting the future.
